7 Best Tips for Optimal Joint Health

7 Best Tips for Optimal Joint Health

Joint health impacts just about every aspect of your daily life.  These recommendations can help improve and/or maintain your joint stability, mobility, and pain.

1.  Keep It Moving.
It's one of the golden rules for basic health and wellness!  You can keep it as simple as changing positions while working or watching a movie, or get more complex with a long walk or playing sports.

Staying active helps improve blood flow, reduce stiffness, and so many other benefits!

2.  Manage Your Weight.
Maintaining a healthy weight significantly reduces the impact on your joints.    The greater the impact, the more susceptible your joints are to wearing down, potentially causing pain or limited motion.  Since exercise is one of the best ways to manage weight, it is a win-win!

Diet and nutrition are also giant factors.  There are many foods that help aid in reducing inflammation, and some that can cause it to increase as well.  These can be incredibly important to your body, so a little research or chat with your physician can go a long way!

3.  Low Impact.
If you have joint pain or discomfort, it makes sense that you would be concerned about exercising.  The good news is that there are a lot of options recommended for low joint impact exercises that maximize your benefits and minimize your risk of injury and pain!

Some of these include yoga, walking, biking, swimming, and strength training.

4.  Pump Some Weights.
Strength training helps provide your joints with better stability.  This affords them the opportunity to provide smoother motions and mobility.  Even a little bit goes a long way!

If you are unsure on what recipe is best for you, consult a physical therapist or certified trainer for a program specific to you.  Also, muscle burns more calories than fat, yet another win!  Your body will thank you!

5.  Recognize Limits.
All of this chit chat about moving more, but it is also important to be in tune with your body and know your limits.  Rest when you need to, just don't plan to stay there.

Find a balance for your body.  Improve your motion and strength while allowing time to rest and recover.

6.  Posture and Body Mechanics.
Strengthening your core and maintaining good neutral postural alignment throughout the day are a key factor in joint health.  When you have core stability, your movements are more balanced and you have less risk for injury and pain.

Incorporating proper body mechanics into your daily routine can be key to successful daily activities with less joint pain.  Use your larger muscle groups to support heavier objects when possible.  Have an ergonomically correct setup for working or watching tv.  Raise work surface in the kitchen (or bring a chair to the counter) so you aren't bending and leaning down as much, as another example.

7.  Natural Remedies.
Before taking prescribed medications with possible side effects or harsh components, you may want to consider trying some basic natural remedies to help ease joint care symptoms.

While we always suggest speaking with your doctor, it may be beneficial to use ice, heat, gentle stretching, and/or foam roller techniques, depending on your circumstances.  Many have also found success with alternative therapies such as acupuncture or Reiki.

Along with the mention of anti-inflammatory ingredients that can be found in food, there are also plenty of supplement or topical treatment options that are beneficial for your joints.

Our Flexicose Plus liquid supplement has no gluten, wheat, dairy, sugar, salt or starch.  This power packed recipe includes rebuilding and anti-inflammatory agents such as glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, hyaluronic acid, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins, and other natural ingredients like yucca root, aloe vera, and boswellia (plus more!).  It is made in a US cGMP facility.  This liquid formula allows for excellent results to ease joint pain with optimal absorption, easy to swallow, and gentle on your stomach.

These tips are a good starting point for most people for optimal joint health.  While you may benefit from a specific consultation or modifications, you can now consider yourself armed with a bit more knowledge to start or progress in your routine.

We hope that if you try one or some of them, you will find relief from joint health concerns!
